Anyone here ever attempted a build with Mesquite back/sides? Wanting to use and trying to find source for the wood.

Iv'e used for solid bodies and fretboards, but not acoustic back and sides.
You live in the best State to find it Mark!
Look for local wood sawyers.
The Woodcraft in Austin has a pile of boards.
I frequently see it on Craigslist as well.
Someone here posted a Mesquite acoustic, but I cannot remember who.
I love the stuff!

Back, sides, and outside neck laminations are mesquite.

DZ will probably do just that (have some one resaw some). Stupid question. If I have sets resawed, how long do I need to sticker and leave stacked before using?

Mark, I've cut 1/2" thick planks and used it in 6 months.
During the summer, my shop is around 100F, so it dries quickly.
I've never had a problem with cupping or twisting. The stuff dries well.
My logs are usually 12-16" diameter. Any larger and I cannot move them.
I half the logs with a chainsaw. My resaw capability is 8" max.
I don't saw much, it's rough on my bandsaw and blade.

When I was in Tucson last month I looked up local mills that sell mesquite. This guy is like the Goby Walnut of Arizona. http://www.kingmesquite.com/ Didn't have a chance to visit, but I've got him bookmarked.

I have built three acoustics with Mesquite backs and sides. Finding trees that are big enough and straight enough for guitar sets is rare. I am always on the look out for a tree or large board. I found a board this week that produced four sets. The tap tone is not very lively at all, but you can use that to your advantage I suppose. I have read that it is one of the most stable woods in the world. It is very pleasant to work with.

That depends on where you look. I got a couple of stair treads here:http://www.mesquitefloors.com/stair-components/
That was enough for the jumbo pictured and another smaller guitar. I must add that one of the two boards I got had some significant bad spots.
I don't know how far you are from Floresville, but it might be worth a drive.
